The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Health Information Management Officer. Requirements

MHSADS seeks a dynamic professional to lead the health information management program. The Health Information Management Officer oversees the health information management program and staff for the department. This position provides leadership and oversight of the health information management program, maintains program records and analyses program outcomes.

In this position, the successful candidate:
  • Develops and implements a health information management program; coordinates the establishment, organization, and maintenance of clients' medical records; advises and directs the development of policies, procedures, and standards related to health information management; and oversees Health Information Administration.
  • Oversees departmental compliance with documentation, filing, retention, storage, destruction, and security of health information; develops processes to facilitate auditing of health information to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Supervises a team of Heath Information Management Technicians.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations; interprets federal and state changes in code or regulations to implement necessary procedural changes.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field related to the assigned program or department; four (4) years related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test.
  • Successful candidate must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
  • Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week.
  • May be required to work and be assigned to an alternate work site to carry out duties that support the needs of the County's residents or employees.
  • Must be available for duty beyond normal workday as required to perform functions of position for assigned department.
  • Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
