This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital, 220 Faison Drive, Columbia SC 29203.

As the Program Manager I, under limited supervision of the BPH Civil Director, you will plan, develop, and organize clinical treatment services and activities for BPH Civil to ensure evidence-informed, effective, and therapeutic services are available and provided to all patients. Provide clinical and administrative oversight to comply with local, state, federal, and accreditation regulations. Collaborate with other disciplines to create a holistic patient care environment; work closely with leadership and represent BPH Civil in the community through attendance at meetings and building relationships with community partners.

Responsibilities for the Program Manager I:

• Coordinate and evaluate program development and clinical treatment services for BPH Civil. Ensure the delivery of individualized therapeutic interventions to all patients. Confer with the BPH Civil Director as needed on issues of program planning, policies and procedures.
• Manage and supervise licensed and unlicensed counseling and psychology staff. Attend and lead regular staff meetings to remain abreast of events, activities, issues, and problems of each department. Develop, monitor, and report on program outcomes.
• Oversee and coordinate all active treatment activities, including individual and group psychotherapy, individual and group psychoeducation, psychosocial rehabilitation, discharge readiness, visitation and appointment escorting, and disability determination evaluations, taking place in Treatment Mall and on individual lodges.
• Serve on BPH Civil Committees as directed by BPH Civil Director. Coordinate the clinical aspects of the programs mandated by TJC accreditation. Collaborate with other disciplines and with ETR to deliver evidence-based, best practice trainings to BPH Civil staff.
• Evaluate and approve active treatment curricula, group assignments, and group schedules.
• Comply with corporate Compliance, Harassment-free Workplace, Time and Attendance Policies, and Zero-Suicide. Complete annual SCEIS model trainings, annual CPR, and MANDT training. Maintain all licensure certifications as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have advanced knowledge of counseling or psychological interventions in psychiatric programs.
• Must have experience serving complex populations with psychiatric, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
• Must be independently licensed and in good standing in South Carolina as a professional counselor or psychologist.

Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

• Have working knowledge of ethical guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations applying to inpatient psychiatric care of civilly committed and forensic patients.
• Be able to move freely around campus to complete job duties.
• Have computer knowledge and skills sufficient to fulfill job duties efficiently.
• Be able to function independently at a high level and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
