About the Position: Serves as a Branch Chief and directs the work of employees involved in activities associated with managing the planning, design, and construction of civil work projects.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Managing civil construction project schedules, ensuring alignment with the Project Management Plan (PMP); administering civil works program budgets, ensuring proper fund allocation and expenditure tracking.; and leading a project team, ensuring timely task completion and adherence to project goals.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Administration Leadership Project Management Stakeholder Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Major Duties:

  • Develop and monitor civil work project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate civil work project activities across multiple teams, ensuring compliance with the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Review and monitor the allocation and expenditure of funds for civil works projects.
  • Assure timely preparation of budgetary proposals and evaluates financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Lead and supervise the work of employees to ensure the successful completion of civil works projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to ensure effective team performance.
  • Communicate project status updates to stakeholders and coordinate efforts to resolve issues.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met and keeping them informed of project progress.
