Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing and updating official documents, policies, and manuals for a cyber command to ensure they follow government rules and are easy for staff to use.

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

This position is located at the Fort Meade, Maryland. CYBER EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITIONS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE TWO-PAGE RESUME LIMIT.

Major Duties:

  • Oversee, manage, and maintain the Command’s program for USCYBERCOM publications to include instructions, guides, manuals, and policy memoranda to ensure command personnel adhere to command, DoD, and Federal policies.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate draft instructions prepared by command personnel for accuracy and relevancy.
  • Provide training to action officers on updating publications periodically and adhering to command publications guidance to ensure timely and effective processing command policy.
  • Provide all unclassified command policies to the Public Affairs Office to post on the command’s website to ensure the general public has access to this information.
  • Provide training to Legal Discovery Action Officers (DAOs) to increase understanding of the program and ensure DAOs can provide legal discovery case management.
  • Conduct Staff Assist Visits to directorates and subordinate commands to ensure these offices have processes in place to support legal discovery.
