Social Work Service (SWS) at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (BPVAHCS) is a large clinical service with over 200 FTEE with multiple disciplines, specialties and sub-specialties.
The Program Analyst position is located in the SWS Office of the Chief and reports directly to the Administrative Officer (AO) of SWS.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/05/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Collect, analyze and report data and information on a variety of service and facility level improvement initiatives; provide management support to Services Leadership for daily operations and long-term planning; execute and prepare responses to a variety of correspondence to include Service Action Items and other facility action items; analyze and presents program status reports for review at all levels of internal and external stakeholders; and collaborate with a variety of employees from various programs within and outside the Service to carry our primary responsibilities.
OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Some standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, medical records and paper may be required.
Due to the nature of the work, employee may come in contact with Veterans who are confused, intoxicated or have a contagious disease condition.
The Program Analyst must have a valid Florida Driver's License and ability to drive a Government Vehicle. Position often placed the successful candidate in a position of stress.
Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted State driver's license, have a safe driving record, and demonstrate that he or she is medically qualified to operate the appropriate motor vehicle safely.
Applicants are required to pass agency Government Vehicle Drivers physical examination.

Major Duties:
The Program Analyst will oversee the quality assurance processes for Social Work Service (SWS) credentialing and privileging of licensed social workers.
Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as the performance improvement coordinator for SWS and is responsible for data tracking, analysis, and reporting for all sections and services of Social Work.
Acts as Chair of SWS Quality Assurance Committee and ensures data for briefing books is pulled and entered monthly for review during SWS Quality Assurance meetings.
Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, directing, integrating, controlling, and evaluating data collection and evaluation mechanisms related to performance improvement initiatives within SWS and overall patient flow principles.
Assist with Lodging and transportation needs of Veterans in the absence of SWS Lodgetel Coordinator and will be a backup Government Purchase Card Holder for emergent transportation and lodging needs of Veterans Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday through Friday) Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
