Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and analyzing projects related to advanced defense systems, such as those for submarines and nuclear planning, by managing budgets, timelines, and teams to ensure everything runs smoothly.

A good fit would be someone with experience in technical project management and strategic advising in high-stakes government or military environments, who enjoys coordinating experts and presenting to leaders.

It requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges without direct supervision.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-13 or equivalent level in program analysis and technical leadership
  • Expertise in analyzing or advising on weapon control systems, nuclear mission planning, or submarine platform systems integration
  • Ability to manage project cost, schedule, and performance, including planning tasks for internal staff and external contractors
  • Skills in providing technical expertise for developing complex systems and creating control/mission planning capabilities
  • Experience coordinating project teams, organizations, and subject matter experts to align on objectives
  • Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and reviewing project documentation, briefs, reports, and providing recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ability to lead program-level meetings, develop agendas, and communicate critical information across teams

Specialized experience must demonstrate program analysis and technical leadership for analyzing and/or advising on weapon control systems, nuclear mission planning, or submarine platform systems integration, including managing projects, coordinating teams, and providing strategic recommendations.

  • You will oversee your assigned project areas by managing their cost, schedule, and performance, which includes independently planning tasks for both internal staff and external contractors.
  • You will provide technical expertise and program analysis for the development of complex systems, creating system control and mission planning capabilities that meet project objectives.
  • You will offer guidance and direction to project teams by coordinating the efforts of various organizations and subject matter experts to ensure alignment on system control and planning.
  • You will prepare, analyze, and review project documentation, briefs, and reports, providing expert recommendations to senior leadership and representing the program in high-level meetings.
  • You will coordinate and lead program-level meetings and working groups by developing agendas and ensuring that critical program information is effectively communicated across all teams.
