Full Job Description

You will serve as a PRODUCTION MAINTENANCE MANAGER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience planning, coordinating, and directing the overall production management function for the Production Department.

*Experience reallocating priorities and resources as required to meet demands and assures that work is accomplished in a logical, efficient, effective and expeditious manner.

*Experience ensuring that any work assigned that cannot be accomplished is addressed to your reporting senior in a timely manner.

*Experience interpreting, organizing and executing and coordinating complex assignments and projects.

*Experience organizing and administering the work functions assigned to the Production Department to ensure their satisfactory and timely accomplishment.

  • You will assign and define responsibilities and duties of subordinates in support of submarine maintenance actions, delegating specific authority to subordinate supervisors to carry out their respective responsibilities.
  • You will schedule and execute all production work assigned and have overall responsibility for ensuring all production work meets the acceptable level of cost and schedule adherence.
  • You will coordinate and integrate a number of work assignments over various branches to complete work assignments which include the work of professional, technical, financial, and administrative functions.
  • You will review and approve reports, instructions and all other documents to assure that they conform to command and Navy policies in support of on time delivery of submarine maintenance availability.
