This job involves planning and scheduling the long-term maintenance and use of military aircraft and engines across multiple weapon systems for the Air Force.
The role requires overseeing production processes, identifying delays, and coordinating with various teams to ensure smooth operations.

The primary purpose of this position is: To manage the advance planning and long term scheduling for the utilization and maintenance of all assigned aerospace vehicles assigned, currently eight different weapon systems, as well as engine management for Air Force wide support.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of understanding and experience in assigned aerospace vehicle systems is required to observe and analyze production operation to determine if maintenance schedules are being followed.
Must determine root causes of production delays in a multiple process production environment and may be required to offer alternative and improved methods of aircraft production processes.
Must exercise control of repair and overhaul of a multitude of complex aircraft.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible.
One year at the GS-08 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies, and program goals of the organization sufficient to perform assignments, such as independently noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings/conferences; shifting staff to respond to fluctuating workloads; advising other staff on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpreting new instructions and procedures; or locating and summarizing information from files and documents that requires recognizing which information is or is not relevant to the problem at hand.

Knowledge of the organization and other installation organizations (such as base POL, CE/Chugach, Fire Department, Ammo, NWC, etc.) required to coordinate the work of the office and for recognizing the need for such coordination in various circumstances.

Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of Wing level plans and programs for conducting major operations such as aircrew student mission training, deployment, and transfer of assigned aircraft or similar operations.

Knowledge of 58 SOW and AETC command program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events.

Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance and student aircrew training concepts, principles, and practices of specific systems/equipment and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments.
Ability to plan, organizes, and reprioritizes work to meet changing deadlines. 6.
Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies or projects and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Ensures coordination and development of operational and maintenance requirements for all assigned aerospace vehicles and related support and training equipment into long range, quarterly, monthly, and weekly plans to produce a schedule which makes efficient use of resources.
Oversees scheduling and ensures attendance at the daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings to refine and incorporate unscheduled maintenance requirements into the Weekly to Daily Maintenance Plans and workload requirement.
Establishes work priorities and oversees work in progress to ensure compliance with established policies and directives.
Develops inspection work package for aircraft; schedules and conducts the pre-inspection meeting for scheduled inspections such as periodic, isochronal and phase.
