Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and overseeing aircraft maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, and ensuring that planes are ready for flights in the Air National Guard.

It requires managing teams, tracking parts and equipment, and adjusting plans as needed to meet mission demands.

A good fit would be someone with military or technical experience in aviation maintenance who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using computer systems for tracking work.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number PDD0749000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard.

***NOTE: This is a Dual announcement with AGR AF26-071.

Only one candidate will be selected for this vacancy*** MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience with planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of manpower, machines, and materials pertaining to repair operations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience preparing job or work orders.

Experience scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility and following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes.

Experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment.

Major Duties:

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT), GS-1152-9, you will implement preliminary (advance) maintenance plans for assigned weapon systems and schedules immediate maintenance for transient aircraft.

Designate, maintain and monitor current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to ensure actuality and compliance with flying schedules. Monitor progress of job completion by dispatched personnel.

Maintain a visual schedule of daily flying, noting deviations and cancellations.

Coordinate with Materiel Control on mission capable (MICAP) and non-mission capable status (NMCS) of parts, adjustments to in-shop work priorities, and verification of urgency of need designators.

Coordinate with Quality Assurance on functional check flight (FCF) requirements, Air Operations on flying schedule, other maintenance shops for coordination of repair work and with other functional areas as required.

Direct physical movement of aircraft and aerospace ground equipment.

Controls the maintenance communications and transportation systems to provide for the effective transmission of information and movement of material and maintenance personnel.

Monitor and revise the sequence of preselected aircraft required for contingency commitments.

Make required inputs to the automated data system and retrieves data and/or computer generated products as required. Conduct training of assigned military personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.
