Job Description

Summary

This job involves coordinating and managing maintenance teams to fix and support shipboard systems and equipment for the U.S. Navy, ensuring repairs are planned and executed smoothly.

You'll act as a key contact between naval officers, engineering teams, and production groups while handling budgets, training, and performance reports.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a production Controller in the Production Department (Code 900) of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in the management and evaluation of all shipboard maintenance services by planning, developing, implementing repairs to ensure the successful execution of maintenance programs.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform duties as the Maintenance Assist Team (MAT) Coordinator.
  • You will be responsible for the successful management and completion of all shipboard maintenance assist services.
  • You will review all shipboard problematic systems and equipment that South West Regional Maintenance Center is capable to support.
  • You will identify and develop a qualified team of various shipboard system/equipment experts.
  • You will generate and analyze metrics, work induction and brokering of I-Level work, general administrative services to include MAT advertisement, assigned ship class budgeting, time-keeping, training and reporting.
  • You will be the liaison with U.S. Naval commanding Officer's, South West Regional Maintenance Command Production Code 900 Product Families, and Engineering Code 200.
  • You will implement policies, procedures, expectations, and responsibilities for the planning and execution of the MAT program.
