THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number T0029P01 and is part of the PA Joint Staff, National Guard.

1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. Indefinite w Rollover APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Rodgers GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees that includes at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences or a combination of education and experience that provided you with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that includes at lest 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences, or do you have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 36 months experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources.

Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures.

Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.

Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.

Major Duties:

As a Primary Prevention Specialist (PREV WF), GS-0101-11, you will serve as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordination and serves as the subject matter expert for the Brigade/Region IPP program.

Support inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Brigade/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups.

Serve as the Brigade/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships.

Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Brigade/Region.

Recruit, train, and facilitate military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Perform other duties as assigned.
