Job Description
Summary
This job is for an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working in a Michigan veterans' home, where you'll provide hands-on care to residents, give medications, monitor their health, and keep detailed records all under the guidance of a registered nurse.
It's ideal for someone with nursing experience who enjoys helping veterans and can work independently while following care plans.
The role involves shift work in a supportive environment for military families.
Key Requirements
- Possession of a certificate from a practical nursing education program accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
- Current Michigan licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Ability to perform a full range of LPN duties using independent judgment under RN supervision
- Experience in providing nursing care, administering medications (non-IV), and monitoring effectiveness
- Skills in implementing interventions, evaluating care, and extensive documentation in medical records
- Must pass random drug and alcohol testing as a test-designated position
Full Job Description
The LPN E9 (Licensed Practical Nurse) is the experienced level position. This position requires the performance a fullrange of LPN duties using independent judgment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN provides nursing
care to members for a designated shift using the established care plan, contributes to the planning of member care,
administers medications, monitors for effectiveness of those medications, implements and evaluates interventions, and
extensive documentation in the member medical records. The LPN functions under the supervision and delegation of a
Registered Nurse.
The LPN in this facility is not allowed to start IVs, initiate IV therapies, or administer IV medications.
