Full Job Description

This vacancy is for a GS-2150-13, Port Operations Officer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard YARD, Industrial Department in Baltimore, Maryland.

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Providing specific local navigational information pertinent to transiting the upper Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore Harbor and Curtis Creek.

Developing program schedule requirements with Yard Production, Program Management and Schedulers for arrivals, departures, and movements within the waterfront. Developing plans for vessel movements.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

You will serve as a Port Operations Officer and be responsible for providing support for the shipyard's waterfront operations Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.

Typical work assignments include: Serve as the Yard Pilot, responsible for shipyard vessel movements and assisting vessels that arrive or depart the Yard via the Chesapeake Bay.

Coordinates movements with cutter crews, contractors, other government agencies and Yard personnel.

Monitors condition of the waterfront facility and equipment, procuring services and materials, monitoring the condition and security of ships and boats moored at CG Yard.

This position requires the following licenses prior to appointment.
