Job Description

Summary

This job is for a police officer who also serves as a trainer, teaching Navy security personnel about law enforcement skills, equipment, and procedures in Key West, Florida.

It involves preparing lessons, ensuring everyone meets safety and proficiency standards, and improving training methods.

A good fit would be someone with hands-on police experience who enjoys teaching and working in a structured military environment.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1.

Knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property2.

Teaching course curriculum in specialized and technical instructional areas related to Navy Security Forces (NSF) training objectives3.

Coordinating with other instructors to maintain and develop course material ensuring improvements to teaching methods are continuously made (NOTE: Your answer must be supported by information in your resume) Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:Police Series 0083 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide classroom studies and instruction on practical use of law enforcement equipment and techniques.
  • You will ensure that all law enforcement personnel are in compliance with agency standards and policies governing employee proficiency in the use and maintenance of assigned firearms.
  • You will prepare course material for NSF training objectives.
  • You will determine the most effective ways and means of teaching course curriculum.
