Job Description

Summary

This job is for a police officer at a Navy installation in Panama City, Florida, where you'll enforce laws, protect people and property, investigate incidents, and handle traffic and security duties.

It's ideal for someone with prior law enforcement experience who is physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to public safety.

No advanced degree is needed, but you must show at least one year of relevant specialized work.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER for the NAVSUPPACT PANAMA CITY SEC DET.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting a body of basic laws and regulations; 2) Interpreting law enforcement operations, practices and techniques; 3) Maintaining order and protecting life and property; 4) Seizing and protecting evidence, or interviewing witnesses and taking statements, or conducting preliminary investigations or conducting traffic stops or detaining citizens in violations of law; 5) Subduing or disarming individuals.

  • You will operate radar or other speed detection equipment to monitor and enforce traffic regulations or laws.
  • You will control access to secure areas by determining which vehicles or personnel have credentials for entry.
  • You will detain those who violate rules, regulations, and pertinent laws on public or private property.
  • You will investigate circumstances or individuals that appear unusual or suspicious to prevent crime.
