Job Description

Summary

This job is for a police officer at a Navy base in Coronado, California, where you'll enforce laws, control access to secure areas, direct traffic, issue citations, and document incidents to protect people and property.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the Force Protection Division of NAVBASE CORONADO SEC DET.

GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least 6 months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques;2) Responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.

General experience must demonstrate the following:1) Experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials;2) Making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws.

  • You will control access of pedestrians or vehicular traffic to restricted areas.
  • You will monitor and evaluate progress of major law enforcement projects.

  • You will complete forms for documentation of events (e.g., issuing citations, interviewing witnesses).
