Requirements

In this position, you will perform plumbing maintenance and installation work at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Your work will involve installing and repairing bathroom and kitchen fixtures, as well as repairing and replacing faucets and pipes.

Working with pipes will include bending, cutting, welding, cleaning, and soldering. You will also maintain records of work performed and materials utilized for job completions.

You can expect to utilize safety precautions and maintain a safe work environment. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance and make minor repairs to assigned tools and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Possession of a valid PA DEP Class E (Water) Certification
  • Completion of formal training in the plumbing trade
  • Previous experience as a plumber
  • Previous experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of water main breaks and the sanitizing of water mains due to main breaks
  • Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of underground water mains and/or sewage lines
  • Previous experience in the installation and/or connection of service lines to water or sewage mains
  • Previous experience working in hazardous conditions such as confined space, electrical currents, or chemical exposure
