Job Description
Summary
This job involves working as a physician assistant in Michigan's veteran homes, helping doctors by assessing patients' health, performing medical procedures, and providing ongoing care mainly to elderly veterans in long-term facilities.
It's a great fit for licensed physician assistants who enjoy geriatric care and want to serve veterans in a supportive state government role.
No prior experience is needed, just the right education and certification.
Key Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in medicine, or completion of a professional physician assistant program
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Possession of a Physician Assistant license issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth
- Ability to provide medical assessments, perform procedures, and deliver primary clinical therapy
- Experience or interest in working with a geriatric population in long-term care settings
- Availability to work at Michigan Veteran Homes in Grand Rapids or Chesterfield Township
