Full Job Description

This position will focus on Advanced Clinical Practice & Statewide Evaluations-

• Provides advanced physical therapy evaluation and treatment for incarcerated individuals as referred
  by medical providers, including those with complex orthopedic, neurologic, post-surgical, chronic
  pain, geriatric, or trauma-related conditions.
• Performs statewide clinical consultations, providing expertise on complex mobility needs, assistive
  devices, orthotics/prosthetics, durable medical equipment (DME), ADA accommodations, and postsurgical
  rehabilitation protocols.
• Develops individualized treatment plans based on advanced assessment, clinical records, specialist
  recommendations, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Conducts functional capacity evaluations and risk assessments for individuals requiring specialized
  housing, work restrictions, or safety accommodations.
• Provides guidance to facility-level providers and nursing staff regarding advanced therapeutic
  modalities and safe-mobility techniques for high-risk patients.

Qualifications

Licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Iowa Board of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners and experience equal to eighteen months of full-time employment as a physical therapist;licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Iowa Board of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners plus any equivalent combination of graduate level coursework in physical therapy may be substituted for the required experience (on the basis that thirty semester hours equals one year of experience) up to a maximum substitution of one year.
