Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team in an operations center to monitor and manage the daily production of scientific products from the U.S.
Naval Observatory, such as timekeeping and Earth orientation data, while ensuring systems run smoothly and communicating with users about any issues.
A good fit would be someone with strong knowledge in physical sciences and IT who enjoys coordinating teams, troubleshooting technical problems, and handling customer interactions in a government setting.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: The incumbent must have a mastery of principles and practices in Physical Sciences with specific knowledge of scientific instrumentation, services, and the Information Technology infrastructure that supports scientific data product delivery.
