About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA in Directorate of Clinical Support, Pharmacy Department.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: 1) preparing medications for dispensing; 2) distributing pharmaceuticals ensuring safe medication distribution; and 3) utilizing pharmacy-based computer systems to process prescriptions and medication orders.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Major Duties:

  • Receive and reviews individual prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals.
  • Interpret orders for appropriateness and conformity with established pharmaceutical standards.
  • Work in intravenous additive solution area and performs sterile solution operations.
  • Prepare and maintains various pharmacy records,files, and administrative reports.
  • Perform clinic inspections and maintains work area and equipment.
  • Provide training, assistance, and technical oversight.
