Requirements
In this position, you will participate in a comprehensive training program where you will learn to operate highway equipment and carry out various maintenance tasks that ensure safe and dependable roadways. You will gain knowledge about safety protocols, equipment handling, and environmental responsibilities while collaborating with seasoned crew members.
You will acquire the skills to safely operate heavy machinery such as trucks and loaders, performing necessary checks before and after use. Additionally, you will practice using hand and power tools like shovels, chainsaws, and mowers to assist with roadway and bridge upkeep. Your role will also involve manual labor, including cleaning culverts, trimming vegetation, and repairing guiderails. Adhering to safety procedures is crucial; you will wear protective gear, stay vigilant about potential hazards, and report any incidents promptly. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner’s Permit on the first day of work.
- This position requires possession of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations on the first day of work.
