Job Description

Summary

This role involves teaching Patient Care Assistant (CNA) courses at Aiken Technical College, covering both hands-on skills and classroom theory, while managing students and preparing lesson plans.

Schedules are flexible, including days, evenings, weekends, online sessions, or even high school classes.

Key Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing with an active Registered Nursing (RN) license, or Diploma in Nursing with Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (working under RN supervision)
  • One year of experience in long-term care for the elderly and/or chronically ill patients of any age
  • Two years of experience in the nursing discipline
  • Ability to deliver instruction in hands-on and theoretical formats, including classroom management
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining course syllabi, lesson plans, and administrative reports

Join our team! Aiken Technical College is recruiting Patient Care Assistant (C.N.A.) Adjunct Instructors.

Class schedules will vary from semester to semester. Classes may meet in the daytime, evenings, weekends, or online. Faculty may be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) as well as teach dual enrollment courses in assigned high schools.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruction including hands on and theory, classroom management, and administrative tasks that may include reports, syllabus and lesson plan development.
  • Prepare and/or maintain current course syllabi for course taught.
  • Ensure that course is taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
  • Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
  • Recommend adequate laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned course.
  • Supervision of students.

Requirements

ssociate degree in Nursing with a Registered Nursing (RN) license, or a Diploma in nursing with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license who works under the supervision of the primary instructor (RN). One (1) year of experience in long-term care caring for the elderly and/or the chronically ill of any age and two (2) years of experience in the discipline also required.
