Requirements

This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for assigning caseloads and investigations, reviewing Parole Agent reports, and conducting administrative conferences. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and developing Parole Agents, ensuring they have the necessary skills to effectively carry out their duties. You will also be responsible for the oversight of parolee reentry and the management of any non-compliance issues to ensure successful reintegration into the community. Your work will be essential in maintaining compliance with policies and procedures and promoting the overall success of the parole system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work schedule and hours to be determined. You must be available to work holidays and weekends as required.
  • Travel as operationally necessary
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years as a Parole Agent 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years and six months of professional experience in casework or counseling of offenders, auditing of offender caseloads, or investigation, in probation, parole, corrections, or a law enforcement agency; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training


Special Requirements:
  • You must be in possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • You must obtain CLEAN certification within two months of employment and maintain this certification for the duration of employment in this job.

Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
  • A conditional offer of employment requires review of prior law enforcement employment records as required by Pennsylvania Act 57 of 2020.
