Position: Park Manager I
Location: Cedar City, UT

This is for the manager at Frontier Homestead State Park Museum. This State Park is a historic park that preserves early industrial and pioneer history of Cedar City, Iron County, and southwest Utah.

The park features an extensive horse-drawn wagon collection, historic buildings, a Native Heritage exhibit, a working sawmill, and a replica blast furnace.

The museum houses many Utah pioneer artifacts that tell the story of settlement, industry, and daily life in the region.

The park hosts facilities, programs, and events year-round, including Sheep-to-Shawl, Iron Mission Days, school tours, workshops, and seasonal festivals.

The manager oversees daily operations, staff and volunteers, visitor services, collections care, and public programming.

This role requires strong customer service skills, organizational skills, and an interest in public history and education.

Requirements

•Working on state parks infrastructure.
•Manages State Park resources and needs. This includes facilities, infrastructure, collections, and work force.
•Managing the budget, employees, volunteers, foundation, and resources.
•Marketing the park to community needs and finding financial backing.
•Hosting, creating and assisting in events, programs and interpretive experiences.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
•Experience in history based programing.
•Experience in leadership and business management.
•Experience supervising people and projects .

• Willingness to continue education and training in collections and history
• Working knowledge of curator duties and museum practices

Additional Information

• This is a job that required daily lifting, moving and thinking.
• Selected applicant will be required to work in all types of extreme outdoor environments on unlevelled ground.
• There may also be longs days of meetings and sitting at a desk.
• This job requires constant communication skills and occasional long days during events.
