This job involves maintaining and repairing parks and recreation areas, such as planting and caring for plants, fixing basic plumbing or woodwork, and using tools and equipment to keep facilities in good shape.
Workers may also guide temporary helpers on these tasks.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in outdoor maintenance who enjoys physical work and doesn't mind varying schedules or weather conditions.

Part-time paid experience may be accumulated and pro-rated to meet the total experience requirements.General QualificationsMinimum Age Requirement: Applicants must be eighteen years of age prior to appointment because of the hazards of the job, as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act.Driver's License: Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Driver License, Class 3 (now Class C) or higher, before date of appointment.Ability to obtain a Class 1 (now Class A) or Class 2 (now Class B) California Drivers License may be required of some jobs.Physical Abilities:Lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects such as cement and fertilizer bagsWalk, stand, stoop and crouch for long periodsClimb laddersDig ditches and post holesWorking Conditions: Incumbents in these classes must be willing to work on weekends, evenings and holidays, to work outdoors in all kinds of weather, and to work at various locations throughout the County.Background/Criminal History: Persons appointed to this class MAY be subject to a confidential criminal history check and fingerprinting.
