Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Paralegal. In this role, you will be responsible for performing paralegal work of varying scope and complexity; as well as administrative support work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare summaries of applicants for judicial appointments and coordinates the interview with the Governor.
  • Coordinate meetings of judicial nominating commissions.
  • Prepare outlines for meetings of Executive Council and other meetings chaired by the Governor.
  • Obtain required signatures from Governor and Secretary of State for Proclamations and Executive Orders.
  • Prepare summaries of quarterly clemency applications and letters communicating Governor’s decision to applicants along with handling extradition requests.
  • Coordinate Open Record search terms and acts as Record Custodian for IGOV.
  • Coordinate recordation of land patents.
  • Coordinate signing and filing of enacted bills.
  • Filing of required reports submitted to the Governor from state agencies.

Salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000

Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following -

  1. Graduation from an accredited paralegal program
  2. 2 years of full-time work experience as a paralegal or similar support capacity under the supervision of a practicing attorney
