The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers and leaders in accomplishing trades and labor work for the Corrosion Control Section of the Fabrication Branch.
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4100, Painting and Paperhanging Group.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is the ability to lead and supervise.
JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s) supervised and personnelmanagement policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity/ EqualEmployment Treatment.

Knowledge of technical orders, regulations, manuals, and procedures governing the plastic media blasting,aircraft washing, painting procedures, and corrosion control of various aircraft metals and components; knowledge ofrequisitioning, documenting, analyzing problems, and troubleshooting aircraft systems involved in removal andreinstallation of metals and components prior to and after painting of aircraft.
Prefer knowledge related to T-1, T-6,T-38, T-43, and F-16 aircraft. 3. Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental programs as outlined in applicable guidelines. 4.
Knowledge of tool and equipment programs and material accounting and security procedures; ability to use computer to manipulate, input, and retrieve data. 5.
Ability to interpret guidelines such as instructions, specifications, and technical orders; ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties encountered by subordinates. 6.
Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Physical effort Must be physically active, able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, see, hear, climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions Office is located in the aircraft Media Blast Facility.
Performs work inside and outside, danger of eye injury, subject to injury by moving machinery, exposure to loud noises, fumes, solvents, adhesives, oils, and potential electrical hazards.
Exposure to toxic paints, chemicals, or other hazards may require occupational health examinations. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
