About the Position: This position is located in the Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic Psychology Services in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. This is a TERM NTE 3 YEARS.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying a professional knowledge of principles and practices related to community and social service programs; conduct assessments for individuals in need of social service assistance; and analyzing community and social dynamics to evaluate the impact of potential future program changes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Social Services, Social Work, Psychology, or Sociology.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

Major Duties:

  • Represent leadership in briefings, conferences, meetings, and high level interactions with senior military and civilian leaders within the Army, other federal organizations, media, academia, scientific, private and non-profit organizations.
  • Responsible for linking a variety of military and non-governmental organizations and support services to clients in conjunction with services received from other departments within the Medical Treatment Facility.
  • Provide advisory and consultation on all matters concerning community outreach activities and requirements.
  • Document and develop trend analysis, briefing charts, executive summaries, or report documents.
