Summary

About the Position: Serves as the Chief of the Operations and Maintenance Division, as an expert advisor, and technical consultant to the Directorate of Public Works, Staff, Garrison Commander , and key personnel of tenant activities.

Position has primary accountability for all management aspects of Roads and Grounds Branch. Facilities Maintenance Branch, Annual Work Plan development & execution, and more.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing personnel associated with maintenance activities, repair and improvements of buildings, structures, roads, low-water crossings, airfields, grounds, surface drainage systems, erosion & sediment control compliance, management of DPW equipment, and developing and executing the Annual Work Plan.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Making Human Resources Management Leadership Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for the planning, programming, coordination, and administration of the activities of the O and M Division.
  • Directs civil engineering activities, construction, maintenance, land management, and equipment operation activities.
  • Coordinates with contractors and other DPW organizations on problems related to scheduling of construction, maintenance, repair, and other activities.
  • Makes final decisions regarding engineering and technical matter; resolves disputes or discrepancies between subordinate staff.
  • Plans and distributes work, sets priorities, and controls work accomplishment.
  • Develops and executes the DPW Annual Work Plan.
  • Responsible for planning, programming, and execution of the Utility Privatization Contracts for drinking water, wastewater, and electrical distribution.
  • Serves as the primary POC for O and M Intergovernmental Support Agreements.
