Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling everyday office tasks like managing emails, scheduling, filing documents, and processing travel arrangements for Navy personnel at a base in Florida.

You'll use computer programs to keep things organized and support administrative needs in a busy department.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-06 level or equivalent, including clerical and administrative duties like drafting correspondence, record keeping, answering phones, maintaining calendars, mail distribution, and filing
  • Proficiency in using computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experience assisting with Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel requests and vouchers through the Defense Travel System (DTS)
  • Knowledge of administering Government Purchase Credit Card (GPCC) and command budgets
  • Ability to create travel orders, arrange flights, lodging, rental cars, and handle mail deliveries/pickups
  • Skills in responding to information requests, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings or conferences

Full Job Description

You will serve as a OFFICE AUTOMATION ASSISTANT in the ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT of NAS PENSACOLA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing clerical and administrative duties (e.g.

draft correspondences, record keeping, answer telephone, maintain electronic calendar, mail distribution and maintain files).

Assist with the initiation and processing of cost /no cost Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel request and vouchers through the Defense Travel System.

Assist with the administration of Department Government Purchase Credit Card (GPCC) Holder/Command Budget.

  • You will utilized computer systems such as, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
  • You will conduct deliveries/pick up mail at the consolidated mail facility.
  • You will arrange and attend meetings or staff conferences as required.
