Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes demonstrated/documented experience: Using advanced types of office automation software (e.g.

word processing, desktop publishing, graphics, spreadsheet); Applying administrative and clerical rules, practices and procedures applicable to the processing of forms and requests; AND Preparing payroll to include time and attendance.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Develop methods for automating administrative and special reports using a variety of software packages.
  • Develop and/or modify database management systems to perform office operations.
  • Develop methods for automating recurring reports.
  • Ensure office personnel informed and instructed on proper procedures.
  • Provide advice to office staff regarding the preparation and publication of various documents such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, and briefings.
  • Manage electronic files of information.
  • Receive phone calls and visitors, as well as answering routine inquiries.
