Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping probation and parole officers by monitoring offenders' compliance with rules using technology and reports, checking their financial payments, and handling community contacts without fieldwork.

It's a support role in a state agency focused on offender management.

A good fit would be someone organized and detail-oriented with experience in criminal justice or related fields, who is comfortable with administrative tasks and technology.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma with 3-5 years of relevant experience in criminal justice, probation/parole, law enforcement, corrections, or armed services
  • Associate's degree plus 2-3 years of directly related work experience in criminal justice fields
  • Bachelor’s degree (may substitute for required experience)
  • Ability to perform compliance monitoring, progress reports, and community contacts for standard-level offenders
  • Skills in reviewing offender financial obligations and special supervision conditions
  • Capability to assist with non-sworn duties, including technology-based caseload management and cashier tasks as needed

Full Job Description

Responsible for assisting Probation and Parole Law Enforcement Officers to include non-sworn duties by monitoring compliance or using technology in the management of the caseload.

Performs compliance monitoring on Standard level offenders to include conducting required non-field related progress reports and community contacts; reviews offender financial obligations and other special conditions of supervision.

Performs other related duties as required to include cashier duties in the absence of the Field Office Specialist.


Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be submitted for the required program experience.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or an Associate's degree and 2-3 years of work experience directly related to criminal justice (i.e. probation & parole, law enforcement, corrections) or armed services; or a high school diploma and 3-5 years of the aforementioned relevant program experience.
