Full Job Description

The NFP Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of Public Health including supervising the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) staff and oversees the daily operations of the NFP Program.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises one or more employees in the Public Health Department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employee(s).

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the county’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include including interviewing, hiring, and training employee(s); planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.????

Requirements

  • Participates in the hiring and recruitment of the NFP staff.
  • Completes required NFP training and ensures that staff completes required training.
  • Assigns caseloads and monitors home staff home visitation.
  • Maintains a caseload of up to 10 active clients and fulfills reporting responsibilities, as needed.
  • Provides supervision, guidance and evaluation of NFP staff.
  • Monitors the NFP budget.
  • Performs outreach for the NFP Program and participates in community meetings regarding NFP women and their families.
  • Oversees NFP reporting.
  • Analyzes NFP reports.
  • Serves as liaison with national and state NFP offices Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Five (5) years of professional nursing experience required.
  • Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) RN license required. 
  • Texas RN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in epidemiology, sciences, nursing, sociology, humanities, psychology, public health, healthcare management, business or public administration, or related fields preferred. Two (2) years of combined practice and administration experience may substitute for Master’s degree.
  • For Master’s prepared candidate, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in professional nursing required.

Additional Information

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be required to bend, hear, keyboard, sit, stand, talk, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.?
