This job involves working as a nurse in a public health clinic, focusing on assessing, treating, and educating people about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV, including taking health histories, performing tests, giving vaccines, and providing counseling to at-risk groups like teens and high-risk adults.
A good fit would be a registered nurse with experience in public health who is comfortable discussing sensitive topics, making independent decisions, and educating others in a supportive environment.

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and two (2) years of public health and/or supervisory experience.
Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) and four (4) years of public health and/or supervisory experience.
Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) RN license required.
Texas RN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.
Good knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of medical specialty.
Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to make professional nursing decisions and operate autonomously under written protocol.
May need prior supervisory and infectious disease specialty skills.
