This job involves leading a team of nurses in a skilled nursing facility for Colorado veterans, focusing on staff training, supervision, and ensuring high-quality patient care in areas like long-term care and memory support.
It also includes managing education programs, orientations for new hires, and stepping in for on-call duties to maintain safe staffing.
A good fit would be an experienced registered nurse who enjoys mentoring others, handling administrative tasks, and working in a supportive environment with low staff turnover.

Minimum Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
Current, valid licensure as an RN from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
AND
Three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Substitutions
Appropriate education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Special Qualifications:
RN License and CPR Card
Possess and maintain a Colorado RN license in good standing
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment.
Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination, and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
Appeal Rights: If you receive notice that you have been eliminated from consideration for this position, you may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board or request a review by the State Personnel Director.An appeal or review must be submitted on the official appeal form, signed by you or your representative.
