This position is located in the Division of Nursing Services at the Jicarilla Service Unit (JSU) Dulce, NM.
The incumbent functions as a Patient Safety Manager, Infection Preventionist, and Employee Health RN at the Jicarilla Service Unit.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Must submit copy of transcript. Applications will be considered incomplete without proof.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

In addition, they must possess a current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program.
Examples include: Develop policies and procedures for infection control, employee health, and patient safety and ensure compliance with accreditation requirements.
Understand and present health and educational resources. Manage employee health records, collect data and prepare reports for Quality Improvement and Clinical Committees.
OR Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.

Monitors service unit employees for specific required tests upon entry and annually as required by governing agencies. Provides health screening and related services.
Identifies factors in the work environment that present a safety hazard to employee's health.
Formulates policies and procedures for employee health and infection control to meet regulatory agencies guidelines.
