This job involves using special testing methods to check the strength and safety of mechanical parts, pipes, and structures without damaging them, mainly for Navy ships and facilities.
Workers ensure everything meets strict standards by inspecting, calibrating equipment, and recording results.
It's a good fit for detail-oriented people with hands-on experience in technical inspections who enjoy problem-solving in a team setting.
You will serve as a NDT INSPECTOR in the Nondestructive Test Division (Code 135.2), Quality Assurance Office of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
