Summary

This job involves leading a team of inspectors who check materials and parts for defects without damaging them, mainly for Navy submarines at a shipyard in Hawaii.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a NDT INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR I in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will review technical work documents and nondestructive test inspection procedures prior to final acceptance of product.
  • You will review inspection reports for accuracy and satisfactory performance.
  • You will ensure submarine safety (SUBSAFE) and Nuclear interface work is accomplished within stringent requirements.
  • You will daily job site reviews and provide surveillance on in-process inspection operations.
  • You will plan and coordinate nuclear and non-nuclear work assignments within the section on an immediate and long term basis in accordance with established schedule requirements.
  • You will ensure new technology ad lessons learned are incorporated in the processes of the Nondestructive Test Division and establish suitable methods of assessing and continually improving processes and inspections.
