Full Job Description

Job Purpose:

With all aspects of Guided Pathways, and as part of the College's Title III Pathways to the Future 5-year grant project, the Navigator will provide intrusive advising, onboarding, orientation, coaching, career assessment and guidance, selecting pathways, financial literacy coaching and early alert strategies to students from application to graduation

Job Duties:

1. Provides counseling to students and groups on a variety of personal, social, financial, career and academic matters in support of guided pathways.
2. Manage advisee caseload, personalized communications and maintain accurate, detailed records of all advising contacts in the student success management system.

Manage early alert program for caseload using real time data to proactively improve student success through a system of connected and coordinated network of support for students.

Provide first level targeted interventions and strategic care to students beginning in the first year through graduation.

Manage communication between faculty and other student support services including but not limited to tutoring, personal counseling and disability services.

3. Proactively track, contact and work with special student populations including but not limited to high risk, first generation, students who miss or have not made appointments, and students on academic probation or suspension.
4. Collaborate with faculty to ensure current program knowledge in order to effectively assist students with guided pathways selection. Regularly communicate program and pathway changes and updates to colleagues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, communication or pathways specific area; 1 year of experience in student services, preferably in student advising in a community college setting.
