This job involves keeping fitness facilities clean and tidy by scrubbing floors, vacuuming, maintaining equipment, and handling restroom and shower sanitation in a Navy recreation center.
It's a hands-on role focused on semiskilled cleaning tasks using industrial tools.
A good fit would be someone physically fit, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a team environment with basic communication skills.
This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department in the Navy Region Southwest.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of semiskilled labor and cleaning tasks.

A qualified candidate possesses the following: Knowledge of a variety of chemical and cleaning agents. Skill to use a variety of household and industrial equipment and attachments.
Skill to operate, clean, and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment. Physical ability to move furniture, lift and move objects over 50 1bs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skill. Major Duties:
Performs one or more of the following duties: scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers.
Vacuum cleans rugs, using heavy (industrial-type) vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans, and oils these machines, and changes brushes, rollers, buffers, and other attachments on them.
Washes and replaces venetian blinds, changes light bulbs and washes ceiling fixtures and room partitions, using ladders and scaffolds. Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment.
Keeps restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects and woodwork. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap.
Maintains stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more are needed. Cleans showers, sauna, and steam room. Performs other related duties as required.
