St Louis County's Jefferson Barracks museums are seeking an enthusiastic Museum Educator to ensure a positive and welcoming experience for visitors and provide administrative, visitor services, and program support.
This position builds experience in customer service, public speaking, and knowledge of and experience with military history and museums.
Museum Educators facilitate interpretative services to Museum visitors through guided tours and during programs and events (i.e., family programs, exhibit openings), engage visitors in a welcoming manner and are responsive and informative to visitors' needs.
The ideal candidate will be hands-on, collaborative, energetic, customer oriented and possess a positive, friendly personality.
This is a part-time position with a predetermined schedule (monthly). Work schedule includes weekends and some evenings for special events. The average is 28 hours per week.
The starting salary is $18.07 hourly and there are no benefits provided. Work schedule is Wednesday – Sunday 11:30am to 4:30pm with some flexibility.
Bachelor's Degree in History, Museum Studies, Education or a related field and one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings for special events and programs.
