  • Experience driving truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers, and motor coaches
  • Proven ability to navigate diverse road conditions including highways, narrow roads, and steep grades without incidents
  • Skills in complicated traffic situations and safe vehicle operation
  • Journeyman-level knowledge for planning, performing, and maintaining a shop maintenance program, including estimating manpower, equipment, and materials

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (SSC) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1910000 and is part of the FL USPFO, National Guard.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C.

709" and is open ONLY to ON BOARD excepted permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the Florida National Guard. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized.

Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation.

Military Grades: Enlisted: E1 thru E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG09 must have 18 months of Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds.

Experience demonstrating ability to operate truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches.

Experience operating vehicles over a variety of roads including interstate highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades.

Experience driving vehicles without mishap in complicated traffic situations. Major Duties:

As an, MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (SSC), WG-5703-09, you will serve as a Small Shop Chief performing, planning, and laying out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the individual and lower graded worker(s).

Planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.

Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.

Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimates manpower, equipment and material requirements.
