About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Lakehurst Youth Center, Lakehurst, New Jersey. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of sizes and weights of vehicles.
Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if transporting 16 or more passengers, including the driver. CDL must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Operates and performs operator maintenance on one or more vehicles to include: platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, dump trucks, ambulances, passenger shuttle vans and cargo vans with gross weight of more than 10,000 pounds and up to 26,000 pounds.
Operates vehicle through all kinds of traffic, or over rough terrain, depending upon the type of vehicle being operated. Loads and unloads cargo by hand.
Exercises caution in preventing overloading and in securing cargo to prevent damage or loss in transit and for the safety and comfort of passengers. Determines shortest and safest routes.
Observes safety rules, regulations, and posted traffic controls and highway guide signs. Washes vehicles. Maintains areas of outside of facilities using weed whackers, push mowers, and snow blowers.
Uses heavy (not domestic type) power mowers; adjusts blades and clean oil mowers; cuts trees using axe or chain saw. Performs other related duties as assigned.
