This position is located in Healthcare Services, Armed Forces Retirement Home, Gulfport, MS.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide medical administrative support, facilitating Resident care through documentation of medical information, retrieval, records analysis, record retention disposition and maintenance of Resident records.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Specialized Experience for the GS-05: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes: - Experience with medical terminology, medical records procedures, and techniques to organize resident charts; AND - Reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness.
OR Successfully completion of 4 years of education above the high school level.
OR A combination of education and experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-05, you must have been at the GS-04 level for 52 weeks For the GS-05, you may be advanced to the GS-05 position if you have held a position no lower than GS-03 in the preceding year under your latest non-temporary competitive appointment OR have held a position at GS-05 or higher under a non-temporary appointment at any time in the past.
SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired. Major Duties:
