The Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Fee for Service Operations is seeking a conscientious Medical Records Examiner.

As a Medical Records Examiner, you will review and evaluate clinical and fiscal records to assess the compliance of nursing facilities with the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and federal and state regulations.
You will routinely complete PA Pre-Admission Screening Resident Reviews (PASRR) and reconcile the nursing facility Case Mix Index (CMI) report.
You will work both independently and in team settings to compile summaries and conduct entrance and exit interviews.
This role requires strong analytical skills to compile information nursing facilities will use to formulate corrective action plans, as well as a genuine desire to ensure long-term care facilities provide appropriate medical, social, physical, rehabilitative, and restorative care services.
In addition, you will help nursing facility staff achieve compliance by providing technical assistance and participate in the development of medical assistance policies and regulations.
