Requirements

In this position, you will utilize the Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System (WCAIS) to review and evaluate medical fee review applications by analyzing medical records, reports, and provider billing to determine accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

You will apply workers’ compensation statutes and guidelines to make determinations and prepare correspondence to communicate decisions to all parties.


Additional responsibilities include providing guidance and technical assistance to medical providers, insurers, employers, and other stakeholders.

You will also support and coordinate the UR process by evaluating requests for compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time with the expectation that employees will be onsite two days a week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional experience in the field of medical assistance, health care services, or human services; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
