Join the Department of Labor & Industry as a Medical Records Examiner, where you’ll apply your clinical knowledge to review contested medical fee applications, support fair outcomes for injured workers, and coordinate utilization review (UR) processes to ensure regulatory compliance.

In this position, you will utilize the Workers’ Compensation Automation and Integration System (WCAIS) to review and evaluate medical fee review applications by analyzing medical records, reports, and provider billing to determine accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You will apply workers’ compensation statutes and guidelines to make determinations and prepare correspondence to communicate decisions to all parties.
Additional responsibilities include providing guidance and technical assistance to medical providers, insurers, employers, and other stakeholders.
You will also support and coordinate the UR process by evaluating requests for compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time with the expectation that employees will be onsite two days a week.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
