Full Job Description

You will serve as a MEDICAL CREDENTIALING AND PRIVILEGING SPECIALIST in the FLEET HEALTH SERVICES of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience directing teams in day-to-day operations to accomplish the mission. Experience implementing process changes across the team.

Experience leading teams through conflict. Experience analyzing and creating reports within their scope.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be the command expert on credentialing and privileging issues, analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and operations in meeting established goals, measures, and objectives.
  • You will be responsible for the specific implementation of the Credentials Review and Privileging Program, provide technical advice and recommendations to the Fleet Surgeon and Chairman, ECOMS or their designees regarding credentialing.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and present a comprehensive accreditation training course for newly arrived Medical Department Officers and Staff to strengthen their awareness of the program and their role in the successful implementation of this program.
  • You will be responsible for timely processing of applications in accordance with the departmental policies and procedures to ensure that credentialing/privileging requirements are met.
  • You will be responsible for assuring the accuracy and validity of providers’ credentials by verifying and confirming education, training, licensure, certification, experience, clinical competence and health status.
  • You will serve as Command Credential Liaison to BUMED Inspector General, Navy Medical Inspector General, Navy Medicine Support Command, Active Duty Medical and Dental Staff Services Office, JAG, and other military and civilian medical facilities.
  • You will schedule and coordinate meetings, fair hearing, and peer review proceedings convened by the Fleet Surgeon or ECOMS summarizing proceeding for higher authority.
  • You will directly supervise the N01H credentialing and privileging staff both Civilians and contract personnel and conduct a training program for the staff.
