FOR the GS-07 In addition to the meeting the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate meeting the minimum qualification at least one year of at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector - your specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional Mechanical Engineer or OPM accepted equivalency (FE or EIT) engineer having working knowledge, skills and abilities w/subtractive (CNC), Additive (3D printing), processing (plating, cleaning NDI), manufacturing to assist senior engineers to complete engineering projects; AND Utilizing knowledge, skills and abilities w/software associated and w/computer aided design (CAD) such as Autocad, Solidworks NX to complete mechanical engineering assignments.

OR Successful completion of one full year of directly related graduate-level education or superior academic achievement OR Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement OR A combination of experience and directly related graduate-level education as described above that equates to one year of experience in which the percentage of required education plus the percentage of required experience equates to one hundred percent.

  • You will analyze, develop, and manage complex engineering projects and carrying them through completion.
  • You will prepare cost estimates, establish design and manufacture criteria, and scopes the magnitude of new projects, advising skill balance and manpower necessary to execute project.
  • You will check designs, specifications, and drawing produced by other engineers, verifying that they comply with minimum standards for format, safety, functionality, structural strength and compliance with military standards.
  • You will prepare contracts and delivery orders and makes in-house cost estimates for contracting out engineering services.
