This job involves handling materials in a warehouse setting at a U.S.
Air Force base in Italy, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, preparing items for shipment, and maintaining secure storage.
It requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays in a club facility on the base.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on warehouse experience who is physically fit, detail-oriented, and eligible to live and work on a military base overseas as a U.S. or NATO citizen.
About the position: This position is located the La Bella Vista Club on Area F. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy.
Scheduled tour of duty will require evenings, weekends, and holiday work hours. Who May Apply: Open to everyone.

In accordance with the Status of Forces agreement between Italy and the US, you must be at Aviano AB on orders and be a US citizen or citizen of a NATO country with a US permanent resident card.
Italian citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, may be eligible for local national positions on base. Must be able to provide documentation proving residence status overseas.
Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support.
Applicants must provide proper documentation indicating they are already a supported member of Aviano AB.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have experience and knowledge in a wide variety of warehouse plans, methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling.
Must be able to operate mechanized equipment for storage and retrieval. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Major Duties:
Receives incoming shipments from off-loading areas and checks receiving vouches to ensure quality and quantity of items received.
Assembles items into groups based on information shown on receiving vouchers, segregates materials necessary and routes along appropriate processing lines.
Holds Materials for inspection according to established procedures, and routes items not requiring inspection to proper storage. Reports overages, shortages, or damaged conditions to supervisor.
Based on knowledge of warehousing plan, selects storage locations and stores, stacks, and palletizes items considering their use, size, shape, quantity, and possibility of contamination to or from other items.
Selects items for shipment or issue. Checks condition of shipping containers and ensures that items are properly loaded or packed.
Obtains authorized signature on issue documents and keeps necessary copy of requisition to account for issues. Assists in end-of-month inventories of stock by counting items in storage areas.
Ensures that supplies and equipment are safeguarded and secure at all times. Prepares shipping and inventory documents with required data for manual or automated inventory systems.
